Every year, at the end of January, Birch Meadow Elementary School in Reading, Massachusetts emphasizes and celebrates their students' skill of reading by introducing a reading challenge. Each year it is a different theme with different reading goals. This year's reading incentive program theme is READING ROUND-UP! ~ WANTED: BOOKAROOS. During our school’s five week program, which concludes with the National Education Association's READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY on March 1, we hope all of our Birch Meadow "pardners" at the 3K RANCH will become "bookaroos", challenge themselves to "giddy up and read", "lasso" some great books, and spend lots of extra time reading
